Lyrics

Sweetness,
Sweetness, I was simply joking when I said:
"I'd like to smash every molar in your head"

Sugariness,
Sweetness, I was only joking when I said:
"By rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed"

And now I know how Joan of Arc felt
Now I know how Joan of Arc felt
As the flames rose to her Roman nose
And her Walkman started to melt

Bigmouth, peacher
Bigmouth strikes once again
And I've got no right to accept my place with the Human race

Bigmouth, bigmouth
Bigmouth strikes over again
And I've got no correct to accept my identify with the Homo race

And at present I know how Joan of Arc felt
Now I know how Joan of Arc felt
Equally the flames rose to her Roman nose
And her hearing aid started to cook

Bigmouth, bigmouth
Bigmouth strikes again
And I've got no right to take my place with the Homo race

Bigmouth, peacher
Bigmouth strikes again
And I've got no right to take my place with the Homo race

"Peacher Strikes Again" is a 1986 song by the English rock ring the Smiths from their 3rd anthology The Queen Is Dead. Written by Johnny Marr and Morrissey, the song features self-deprecating lyrics that reflected Morrissey's frustrations with the music industry at the time. Musically, the song was inspired by the Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and centres around a guitar riff that Marr wrote during a 1985 soundcheck. "Peacher Strikes Once again" was released as the lead single from the anthology, bypassing Rough Trade'south preferred choice, "There Is a Low-cal That Never Goes Out". The single reached number 26 in the UK Singles Nautical chart and has since seen critical acclaim. The song was covered past Placebo in 1996.
